• Hospitals have used funding from various sources to purchase CPR Teddy™ Kits for their NICU families to take home with their baby.
• Nurse educators provide CPR instruction and then parents take the Kits home to review and practice their own skills over time, or to share those skills with other family members (or babysitters) who could not attend CPR class.

• Provide free CPR Teddy™ Kits to low-income families leaving the NICU
• Offer families in the NICU, as well as Pediatrics and the Mother/Baby unit CPR Teddy™ Kits at a deeply discounted rate (e.g., $25, $30, etc.)
• Requiring some payment will decrease the cost to the hospital per kit, will increase the number of families who have access to the Kits, and will ensure that only those parents who are truly interested in having this tool will take a Kit.

• Purchase CPR Teddy™ Kits and additional mask/airbags.
• Make bears available in patient rooms or at the nurses’ station for “checkout”.
• Families would be provided with a bear, a DVD to watch, a mask/airbag that they would keep (for cleanliness purposes), a pair of gloves (to keep the bear clean), and an instruction sheet explaining to the family what to do.
• A bear and mask could be provided to each family member so they could all watch the DVD and learn together.
• Families can watch the DVD in the patient room or in an education room equipped with a DVD player and TV.
• After watching the DVD and practicing along with their bear, family members could then ask questions of their nurse and/or receive a skills check from the nurse.

• Offer CPR Teddy™ Kits in your hospital Gift Shop.
• To inform families of the existence of this product, provide them with brochures explaining CPR Teddy and directing them to the Gift Shop to purchase one for themselves.
• Distribute brochures in patient rooms, at the nurses station, in CPR/parenting classes, or in New Mom packets.
